Pastor Mark Cowell (Senior Pastor)
I was born in Dearborn, Michigan, just outside the motor city; but grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. So yes, I am a Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavs fan; not to mention Ohio State. (go Buckeyes!)
While attending Cedarville University, I met my wife, Lyn. God gave us two daughters who are grown, gone and married.
I'm passionate about teaching the Word and seeing people become fully devoted followers of Christ. I have been the pastor here at Midway for over 20 years.
I love listening to the David Crowder Band and walking or jogging along the shores of Lake Michigan with my bride.
Pastor Ron Hayes (Student Ministry Pastor)
I was born in Pittsburg, PA but lived all of my childhood and teen years in Ft. Myers, FL. I came to know Christ at the age of nine and was adopted out of a broken, unsaved home when I was twelve, from the same couple that led me to Christ. I have come to see the trials that I faced growing up as the source of my passion to see teens and young people learn to trust in God's saving grace through Christ!
While at Baptist Bible College God saw fit to bless me not just with a pastoral degree, but with my beautiful bride, Rachel. We have been happily married since 2008 and have three children, Tori, Aaron, and Karis.
Aside from spending time with my wife and children, my passions in life are studying and teaching God's love letters to us, teaching others about God's love through discipleship, hanging out with and pouring into teens, and just about any kind of outdoor activities (despite the fact that my sports abilities are practically non-existent!). Though I've only been here since January of 2011, the members and staff at Midway have made this a wonderful transition for my family and me and we are proud to call Midway and this community home!
Jenny Mouw (Children's Ministry Director)
I grew up in Wyoming, a suburb of Grand Rapids. My husband, Nate (my high-school sweetheart) and I
moved to the Coloma area in 2002. We began attending Midway almost immediately and settled in
easily. We have served in many different capacities here at the church. I began in Children's ministry
in 2003 as a helper. This evolved quickly into a teaching role. I have always had a passion for working
with children of all ages. My husband and I are blessed to have two children of our own, Julianne and
Isaac. I began working as the Children's Ministry Director in 2014. This has been a wonderful career shift for me and
allows me to use my talents and passion to help further God's kingdom. I'm incredibly thankful to work with an amazing
staff that loves the Lord and also all of my volunteers who help Midway's children's ministry to thrive.
Debbie Tenter (Office Manager)
I am so fortunate to have been born, raised, and live in this community! My parents and I started coming to Midway when I was 14 and I met my amazing husband, Bill, in Youth Group. We were married in 1977 and have been blessed with two wonderful sons, two remarkable daughter-in-laws, three precious grand-daughters, and a grand-son!!
I had a great job working for a photographer for 23 years before I joined the fantastic team here at Midway in 1996. I love my job, my co-workers and the opportunity to serve the Lord.
Isabelle Barchett (Administrative Assistant)
I have been coming to Midway since before I could walk. After graduating high school I went to Faith Baptist Bible College to earn a degree in Missions. A month after graduating college I married my amazing husband.
I enjoy oil painting and repurposing things. I am excited to be a part of a staff that loves God and His Word.
Mike Bailey (Custodian)
I was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, and grew up on our family farm where I learned to love the
outdoors. I really enjoy hunting and fishing along with my wife, Kathy. We married in 1996, and
between us we have seven grown children and eight grandchildren.
I am very happy to be part of the Midway family.
